FF’s Danielson, Larson get wins at OTC Invite

HENNING — The Fergus Falls Otters hit the the road Thursday afternoon as they took part in the Otter Tail Central Invite.

Fergus’ Connor Danielson captured a first place finish for the Otters with a time of 16:36.72, followed by teammates Jacob Jennen (17:16.28) and Clay Danielson (17:18.14) for fourth and fifth place, respectively.

The Otters had equal the success in the girls race as they placed five runners in the top 10.

Paige Larson posted a time of 16:32.34 for a first place finish.

Johanna Schmidt (third, 17:00.11), Josie Schmidt (fifth, 17:07), McKenna Hatlewick (eighth, 17:13.80) and Cierra Larson (ninth, 17:14.89) all had a excellent meet.

“Our kids had a great night,” Otter coach Niki Welde said. “We had many placing in the top 20 to claim awards, but more than that we had many season bests.”

The Otters will host the Central Lakes Conference Championship Tuesday at Pebble Lake Golf Course. The races will begin at 3:25 p.m.
