The Hillcrest Lutheran Comets made quick work of their Section 8A first round opponent Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Thursday 10-0.

Even Gronlund got the scoring started for the Comets as a blast from the right side put them on the board five minutes into the game. Romero Moreno scored a minute late for Hillcrest on a pass from Daniel Romarheim.

Chris Pellegrino would move the game to 4-0 as he scored two goals, one at the 11 minute mark and another eight minutes later, to give the Comets the edge at the break.

The second half was more of the same as Moreno added another goal five minutes into the half. Luis Martinez would score the sixth goal of the contest off a Pelligrino pass.

Danny Franco would add the next followed by goals by Romerheim, Martinez and David Solberg to round out the scoring.

The Comets will look to carry their offensive momentum into their second round game as they host Detroit Lakes, who was a 5-1 winner over Crookston, Saturday at 1 p.m.
