With a Tara Skauge bump, a Brianna Fitzgibbons set, Carly Masloski recorded her 1,000th career kill for Underwood as the Rockets rolled to a three set victory (25-2, 25-17, 25-5) over Little Eight Conference foe Ashby Thursday evening.

After breezing through the first set, the Rockets held off a charge by the Arrows to take set two.

In set three, Masloski spiked the ball into open court to collect the 12th point of the match and her career milestone.

“This is a nice celebration for the work she’s put into the game,” Rockets coach Diane Ross said. “A thousand kills is a big accomplishment in volleyball.”

Masloski ended the evening with 27 kills, a season high. Teammate Fitzgibbons was 32 for 32 with five aces from the service line.

Arrows Meg Roley went 14 for 16 on serves and tallied three kills in the game.

“My girls never quit playing tonight even when they were down by a lot,” Arrows coach Brenda Johnson said.

The Rockets will finish out their head-to-head season play Tuesday as they host the Battle Lake Lakers at 7:30 p.m., while the Arrows will close out their season at home Tuesday against Parkers Prairie at 7:30 p.m.
