Vikings swat Hornets in HOL win

PELICAN RAPIDS — The Vikings were able to rebound from a first set loss to take a four set Heart O’Lakes Conference victory (15-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-17) over the Frazee Hornets Thursday.

Pelican Rapids’ picked up the win, but saw the loss of outside hitter Kendra Weinrich to an ankle injury.

“Tonight was weird night of injuries and different combinations,” Vikings head coach Heidi Isaman. “I am so proud of how the girls pulled together and didn’t panic under the circumstances.”

Pelican’s Lizzie Pfiefle tallied 19 digs, while teammate Madison Korf contributed 13 set assists in the win.

The Vikings will close out their regular season Tuesday as they travel to take on the Barnesville Trojans at 7:30 p.m.
