Tigers trounce Comets in three sets

The Hillcrest Comets ended their regular season at home Tuesday, but the visiting Rothsay Tigers took home the win in three sets (25-17, 25-15, 25-15).

“We came out with the win tonight, but this wasn’t our best match,” Tigers coach Heather Reber said. “We didn’t run our offense like we know how to and that slowed the pace down.”

Ashley Maack had a good game for the Tigers as she tallied 18 assists and two aces, while teammate Caitlin Simmer finished the night with eight kills and eight digs in the win.

The Tigers will now take part in the Underwood Invitational Thursday at 9 a.m., while the Comets will wait to be seeded in the Section 6A playoffs.
