Two local authors, Vernal Lind and Alan “Lindy” Linda, have published books which they will sign at Victor Lundeens in Fergus Falls.

Lind’s book, “Beyond This Home,” is the latest in a series of books and continues the story of Matthew Anderson and his family in the 1960s. The farm story is told against the backdrop of the changing times, the Bay of Pigs Invasion and the Kennedy Assassination. The historical novel shows the values of home and family.

“Beyond This Home,” and the other novels, published by Wine Press, are available at Victor Lundeens, the Historical Society Museum and Seip Drug in Battle Lake.

The Battle Lake native will sign copies of his book from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Victor Lundeen Co. in Fergus Falls.

Lindy, also known as the Prairie Spy, has written columns for The Fergus Falls Daily Journal for more than 20 years. His first book, “The Prairie Spy: Who Shot the Dryer? and Other Stories from the Home Front,” is available at local outlets, including Victor Lundeen Co.

He will sign copies of his book from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Victor Lundeen Co. Anyone unable to attend, may call the store at 736-5433 to reserve a copy and have it signed.

Lindy’s book is a collection of the best Prairie Spy columns, which bring to life colorful characters and draw upon his life experiences in New York Mills. Topics range from hilarious dialogs with talking appliances to poignant tales of his time in Vietnam.t
