GLYNDON — The Pelican Rapids Vikings improved their season record to 6-2, after a victory against the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels by a score of 34-12.

The Vikings received the ball to start the game and drove down the field with ease, Quarterback Devin Schell would cap off the drive with a one yard run, Hober Diaz’s kick would be no good and the first quarter would end with a score of 6-0.

Pelican played some good defense throughout the first half not giving the Rebels any ground, after both teams exchanged a few punts Ryan Bruggeman would punch in a 12 yard score for another Viking touchdown.

The Vikings would find paydirt one more time before the half was over on another successful drive being finished off by Schell on a one yard score, Diaz would convert the last two extra point kicks and Pelican would have a convincing 20-0 lead.

Bruggeman finished the game with 129 yards on nine carries scoring two touchdowns on the night for the Vikings. “The Vikings defense was up for the challenge of a good DGF running team and held in check for most of the game.” said Pelican Rapids Head Coach David Haugen.

Pelican Rapids finishes the season with a 5-1 conference record and will host their first round playoff game next Tuesday night.
