Five PR homes declared hazardous

Five homes in Pelican Rapids were identified as hazardous properties, giving the owners 90 days to clean up or repair deficiencies, according to the Pelican Rapids Press.

The homes identified had problems ranging from overgrown vegetation and unsafe stairways to leaking roofs. Asbestos siding was a concern at one of the properties.

The council reviewed photos and heard descriptions from city administrator Don Solga. Each property had gone through a review process.

An additional 13 properties will be reviewed by the council in November.
