PR Council to discuss cable franchise [UPDATED]

The Pelican Rapids City Council wants to meet with TV franchise provider Loretel Cablevision prior to approving a contract renewal.statistics

Among the reasons cited for the meeting was poor service, a lack of station offerings and a possibly outdated agreement, which was made 30 years ago, according to the Pelican Rapids Press.

After several ownership changes and other changes in cable technology, city leaders felt the time was right to meet with company officials.

Reviewal of the renewal was tabled until the Nov. 14 council meeting, The Press reported.
