A Battle Lake man died in a one-vehicle crash on Highway 78 near the south side of Otter Tail Lake Saturday evening.

Ronald Fenno, 55, of Battle Lake, swerved to avoid a deer when he lost control of his 1978 Chevrolet Corvette and rolled into the ditch.

Minnesota State Patrol responded to the scene at about 7 p.m. and found Fenno pinned under the vehicle. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The road conditions were dry, and the Minnesota State Patrol did not announce if the driver was wearing a seatbelt.

Fenno previously lived in Fergus Falls.
