At a time when many insurers are exiting the long-term care insurance industry, Thrivent Financial announced recently that it will offer Thrivent Long-Term Care Insurance product to its members.
“Our members are evaluating their financial futures and envisioning their lives during retirement,” said Mona Diebold, product marketing lead with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. “They are recognizing the probable need for long-term care at some point, and we intend to be able to continue to offer them an affordable solution.”
The average cost of full-time nursing home care is $76,285 for a semi-private room. Based on the national average hourly rate of $21 per hour for a home health aide, if you need care eight hours per day, that’s about $61,320 annually.
“Planning ahead for your care needs, including how you’ll pay for them, is an important part of overall financial planning,” said the Fergus Falls reps. “And having a plan in place before there’s a need can help protect you and your family from the financial and emotional stress many people experience during a time of need.”
Thrivent Long-Term Care Insurance includes the following standard benefits: home care services (including necessary home modifications), special equipment, caregiver training, respite care, adult day care, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospice care, bed reservations, alternate care, international care, and care coordination services.
The product offers different payment options and is also eligible to earn dividends.
In addition to the standard benefits of Thrivent Long-Term Care Insurance, other customizable options are available including shared care benefits, survivorship benefits and cash benefits.

RMCEP has funds to help unemployed
Rural Minnesota CEP (RMCEP) has funds to help laid-off workers become re-employed through its Dislocated Worker Programs.
These programs can help laid-off and long-term unemployed workers increase job skills and find employment. Program services include resume building, skills assessment, job search and job training.
Your local RMCEP can provide access to the labor market through resources that are crucial for job seekers to make decisions with their job search and job-training needs.
