FF wins coin flip, receives one seed

The Fergus Falls Otter girls volleyball team sent out a special thanks to President Washington Tuesday afternoon as a coin flip gave them the number one seed in the Section 8AAA North playoffs.

In a coaches vote, the Otters and the Bemidji Lumberjills received equal voting for the number one seed. The two teams did not meet during the regular season sending the decision to fate and a coin flip.

Fergus came out on top, while Bemidji was given the second seed. Both teams will receive byes in the first round of the playoffs.

Monticello received the number one seed in the Section 8AAAA South and will also get a bye in the first round.

The Otters will host the winner of the Brainerd/Moorhead match Friday at 7 p.m.
