Ruby Jeanette (Houglum) Miller, 86

Ruby Miller, died peacefully Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at the Eventide TCU in Moorhead.

Ruby was born Aug. 5, 1926, to Selmer and Pauline (Shevland) Houglum in Perley. She grew up on her family farm in rural Perley.

She attended Riverside Elementary country school and graduated from Borup High School in 1944, with honors as a salutatorian.

On June 24, 1945, Ruby married Myron Miller at Bethania Lutheran Church in rural Perley. They were blessed with eight children, including three sets of twins.

Ruby is survived by her children, Cathy Nichols (Gordie), of Perham, Cindy Skalsky of Battle Lake, Mike (Rachelle) of West Fargo, Mark (Trona) of Eden Prairie, Tim (Nancy) of Moorhead, Tom (Melanie) of Dilworth, and Terry (Sherri) of Faribault; her brother Arvid (Jerry) of Duluth; sisters, Carol Midthune, Lake Park, Betty Blevins of Lakeland, Fla., Ethel (Ralph) Hest of Moorhead; one sister-in-law, Lois Sahl of Tempe, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruby was preceded in by her husband, Myron; an infant daughter; a brother, Edward; a son-in-law, Ed Skalsky; and her in-laws, Dr. Andy Midthune, Wally Sahl, Kenneth Miller and Don (Doris) Miller.

Visitation: Friday from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at the church

Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, at Faith United Church, Ada

Burial: Ada City Cemetery, Ada

Funeral Home: Fredrikson Funeral Home, Ada
