Trosdahl carries OTC to playoff win

umber three seeded Otter Tail Central Bulldogs began their journey in the Section 6A playoffs Tuesday night when they defeated the number six seeded Lake Park Audubon Raiders by a score of 63-22.

Junior running back Jake Trosdahl got the Bulldogs going right off the bat scoring on the first play from scrimmage going 47 yards for a Bulldog touchdown. The Bulldog defense held tough throughout the entire night holding the Raiders under 300 total yards. Senior fullback Tom Lachowitzer scored the next two touchdowns for Otter Tail Central on runs of nine and five yards. Brock Bleichner hauled in a 28 yard strike from Andrew Smith to score another Bulldog touchdown, Trosdahl then punched in another five yard score and after that Otter Tail never really looked back.

The Bulldogs were lead by Trosdahl who carried the ball 11 carries for 177 yards and three touchdowns, along with 142 return yards giving Jake 319 all purpose yards to finish the game. Lachowitzer finished with 76 yards on 14 carries and he also had two touchdowns.Quarterback Andrew Smith threw the ball three times, completed two of his passes for 43 yards and both throws were good for Bulldog touchdowns. Tony Ukkelberg was seven for eight on the night for extra point kicks.

Otter Tail grinded out 403 yards on the ground on 54 carries, along with 43 yards passing for a total of 446 total offensive yards. The Lake Park Audubon Raiders rushed the ball 32 times for 206 yards on the ground, while throwing for 68 to finish with 274 total yards.

The Bulldogs will now take on the Browerville Tigers this Saturday in Browerville at 6:00 p.m.
