ROTHSAY — The seventh seeded Rothsay TIgers defeated Norman County West 3-1 (25-19, 25-15, 12-25, 25-16) to move on in the Section 6A playoffs Thursday.

The Tigers were able to grab the first two sets with quick wins, but saw a hiccup in the third set as the Panthers looked to rally.

In the fourth set, the host was able to close the door winning 25-16 and ending the Panthers season.

“Overall, we played well tonight,” Tigers coach Heather Reber said. “We faltered a bit in game 3, however we were able to run a solid offense for the better part of the night.”

Caitlin Simmer had a great night for the Tigers as she recorded 17 kills and five blocks, while teammate Alexis Craig punched in 12 kills in the win.

The Tigers will now play second seeded Ada-Borup on the road Friday at 7 p.m.
