Kay Minnette Braun, 53, of Fergus Falls

She was born March 10, 1959, in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Duane and Louise (Pearson) Schultz. She grew up in Fergus Falls, graduating from Fergus Falls High School in 1977.
On Sept. 20, 1997, she married Joe Braun at Maplewood Lutheran Church. They made their home in Fergus Falls.
Over the years Kay was employed at her father’s Corner Bar, and at Erickson’s Grocery Store (which later was More 4/Sunmart). In 2000, Kay purchased Wild Rose Floral and Gifts, which she owned and operated.
The opportunity to visit with her customers at the store and get to know them always made her day, and special mention to her faithful co-workers, Ruthie, Lee, Shelley, Nancy, Bridget, and Del.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, and was a past member of the Fergus Falls Chamber of Commerce, Noon Rotary, and the Women’s Ducks Unlimited chapter.
She enjoyed being at the lake, spending time on the pontoon relaxing and fishing, and reading. Times spent with her family and granddaughters brought her the most joy.
Preceding her in death were her father, Duane Schultz, and her brother, Mike Schultz.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Braun, of Fergus Falls; two children: Lacey (Zach) Skramstad of Fergus Falls, and Josh (Sarah) Shol of Fergus Falls; her grandchildren: Alexis, Atleigh, Brinly and Baby Skramstad; her brothers, Pat (Val) Schultz, Tom Schultz, and Bob “Goob” Schultz (Tessa Washek); a sister, Lori (Jeff) Hirte; her mother, Louise Schultz of Fergus Falls; her mother-in-law, Rose Braun; sisters-in-law: Barb (Mark) Anderson, Pat Braun (Lynn Hoff), Kate (David) Anderson, Elaine Schultz and Amber (Mike) Evans; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Thursday 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 10 a.m. Friday, at Grace United Methodist Church, Fergus Falls
