Otter girl swimmers take 6th at CLC meet

WILLMAR — The Fergus Falls Otter girls hit the pool over the weekend and came away with a sixth place finish at the Central Lakes Conference championship meet.weve

The Sartell-St. Stephen Sabres captured the team title, scoring a 503 team score. They were followed by Brainerd (384) and Alexandria (287) on the podium.

Fergus Falls swimmer Dani Ross was named to the CLC All-Conference team after placing third in the 100 freestyle and was named conference honorable mention in the 50 freestyle.

Teammate Abby Fisher took honorable mentions in both the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke, placing fifth and fourth in the two events.

Fergus Falls diver, Rachel Appert, finished in ninth place with a total of 291.05 points.

The Otters also received the conference’s sportsmanship award.

“Congratulations to the team on being voted by theirs peers with The CLC sportsmanship award,” Otter coach Tom Uvaas said. “We have won this multiple years and it shows the character of this team.”

The Otters also had nine best times at the event.
