The Fergus Falls Otters were able to avenge last week’s loss and move on in the Section 8AA playoffs as they defeated the Moorhead Spuds 3-1 (25-18, 21-25, 25-21, 25-19) Friday evening.

“This time we knew we needed to play better,” Otter coach Renee Erickson said. “We knew Moorhead was going to come out ready and we just didn’t want our season to end.”

Morgan Hensch led the Otters with 12 kills, while teammate Devonie Smith kept the ball alive as she recorded 31 digs in the win.

The Otters will now host the South’s third seeded Rocori Spartans, a 3-2 winner over St. Cloud Tech, in a 7 p.m. semi-final match Tuesday.
