FF girls soccer holds annual banquet
Published 8:45am Tuesday, October 30, 2012The Fergus Falls girls soccer team held its annual awards banquet this past week.
Lauren Norgren and Nikki Ellingson each received Central Lakes All-Conference nods, while also picking up offense and defensive MVPs.
Norgren finished her high school career for the Otters becoming the second in goals and career points.
Ellingson also picked up the Coaches’ Award at the banquet.
Ashley Vaughn (Most Improved) and Annie Magnusson (Lifter of the Year) also received awards.
Junior Sara Anderson and freshmen Hannah Baker took home honorable mentions in the CLC.
Ellingson, Kaitlin Capouch, Tessa Haggstrom, Rachael Melby and Megan Niblock received scholar ahtlete awards for the season.
The junior varsity also handed out awards as Sophia Kuehl (Offensive MVP), Alicia Niblock (Defensive MVP) and Keanna Overland (Most Improved) took home the top honors.
“Even though our record wasn’t where we wanted it to be this year, we had some great strides as a team and developed some great friendships,” Otter coach Karoline Gustafson. “A huge thank you to this years seniors. They did a great job leading the team and have put in a lot of time to not only better their skills but to make the team better as a whole.”
The Otters ended the year with a record of 4-13-1, losing in the quarterfinals to East Grand Forks.
