The train caboose located near the Farmers Feed Mill was recently re-painted to its original color.

“We had two individuals that have been working on restoring it back to its original colors,” said Otter Tail Valley Railroad manager Rick Oeltjen.

The train had faded due to the sun and rusted over the years due to the weather elements.

“We have big plans for it when it is complete,” he said.

Otter Tail Valley Railroad is planning on using the repainted caboose for the first-ever Santa Train coming through Fergus Falls this holiday season.

“We have it tentatively set it for Dec. 15. We will be coming from up north making stops in Barnesville and Rothsay on our way to Fergus Falls,” he said.

Santa will be coming to town to visit all the children in style this year with a brand new painted ride.
