A sleeping man, awoken by a noise and his barking dog, walked into another room and came upon an apparent burglary in progress near Perham at about 12:45 a.m. today.

When he turned the lights on, he saw a man who had broken into his house.

The burglar fled, and upon further investigation, the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office found evidence that the burglar was dropped off by another driver. When the suspect returned to the vehicle, they took off at a high speed.

The suspect is described as 5-foot 10-inches to 6-foot male with a thin to medium build dressed in all black.

A K9 unit assisted at the scene. The case is under investigation.
