Nestled on a tree-lined street in a quiet residential neighborhood in Fergus Falls, the Lakes Country Service Cooperative building has recently undergone a high-tech transformation. LCSC members and the public are invited to an open house this Thursday to check out the remodeled facility, including a new addition.

Highlights include:

• 16,000 square feet of the former 1938 elementary school building that were gutted and remodeled

• A 5,000 addition enhancing the front of the building

• State-of-the-art technology upgrades that allow members to interact from remote locations

• Digital presentation capabilities that can be distributed throughout the building, webcast and sent out through interactive television systems

“We wanted to provide a more modern and usable space for our members,” said LCSC Executive Director Jeremy Kovash. “We’re very proud to offer contemporary technology and more interaction in our classrooms and conference rooms.”

The total budget for the construction project came in at just under $3 million, with over $220,000 spent on technology updates.

LCSC is a non-profit membership-based organization that provides a variety of programs to schools, governmental agencies and other non-profit agencies.
