Man dies while hunting [UPDATED]
Published 10:43am Monday, November 5, 2012 Updated 12:47pm Monday, November 5, 2012A Carlos man died while tracking a deer near Osakis Sunday.
The man was hunting on the west end of Pheasant Hill Road when he shot a large buck. He and others in his hunting party went out later to find the deer and decided to split up.
After a period of time, he was found on the ground, non-responsive.
CPR was initiated, but he was pronounced dead on the scene when emergency personnel arrived.
The death does not appear to be suspicious, and the Douglas County Sheriff’s office reported it appears to be related to previous medical conditions.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Osakis First Responders and Osakis Fire Department, North Ambulance, a Minnesota State Patrol trooper and Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Conservation officers.
