Teen arrested for carrying stolen gun in FF

A 17-year-old male was arrested Sunday afternoon after police received calls that the boy was walking down West Cavour with a firearm.

The suspect was believed to have stolen a shotgun from a residence on the 800 block of West Cavour.

Officers detained several individuals who were found in the area that had been with the suspect. Police set up a perimeter and used a K-9 to search the area. Following up on leads, police checked several residences in the West Cavour area and the 900 block of East Lincoln.

The male was found at about 2:30 p.m. at a residence on the 800 block of West Cavour. The shotgun the boy was carrying was also recovered at the time of the arrest.

Charges are pending against the suspect.
