Employees and customers of the Fergus Falls Walmart were evacuated Saturday evening and the store closed after store management had received a threatening call, according to Fergus Falls Police.impressive

The employee who took the call said the individual had made a threat that involved a man with a firearm in the store, and he led the employee to believe the threat was imminent, according to a police news release.

No other details about the type or nature of the threat is being released. However, police officials say no one was taken hostage within the store, no one was observed making threats or displaying weapons in the store, and no one was injured as a result of the incident.

The store reopened after a security sweep was completed. About 20 officers from Fergus Falls Police, the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, the State Patrol and the DNR responded.

Fergus Falls Police will be working with Walmart corporate security to investigate the threat. They also will determine whether the threat was isolated to the Fergus Falls store, or if other Walmart locations were affected.

I’m glad after article was run, edited for accuracy and facts, rerun again with changes, that its somewhat newsworthy now. Copying from Mobile Media areas and printing as factual news is irresponsible. Thank goodness no one was hurt or the situation was not worsened/ hindered by your reporting.

Daily Journal has always had a problem of running stories without checking facts first.

At least they fixed the problem w/ the article; that is called responsible reporting, something not always practiced by bigger news organizations.

Also, would you have been happy that they just not report on it? Were you there to hear the information that was passed on to them before they wrote the article? Maybe if you feel you could do a better job, pick up a job application w/ the journal.
