Heitkamp wins, but Berg doesn’t concede

Published 7:26am Wednesday, November 7, 2012

In a race many west central Minnesota residents were forced to watch closely but couldn’t vote on, North Dakota Democrat Heidi Heitkamp has apparently defeated Republican Rick Berg for U.S. Senate by less than 1 percentage point with all precincts reporting.woods

However, with only a 2,814-vote deficit, Berg has refused to concede the race pending the outcome of the official vote canvassing, increasing the likelihood of a recount.
