Two-year-old hurt in rollover near Wahpeton

A two-year-old and 25-year-old from Tennessee were injured and taken to a hospital in Fargo after a rollover near Wahpeton Wednesday.ma

At about 4:30 p.m., Sierra Hummel was trying to make a left turn on Highway 13 when a pickup driven by Wayne Waytashek, 51, of Cambridge struck her driver’s side bumper, knocking her Ford Escape off the road where it rolled multiple times. The vehicle came to rest in the median.

Hummel was wearing a seatbelt and her son was properly restrained in a car seat. Wayteshek was also wearing a seatbelt, but he was not injured.

No details of injuries have been released, and the crash is currently under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
