Lake Region Healthcare (LRH) has added Dr. Dari Orandi, MD, to its team of healthcare professionals.
Originally from Royal Oak, Mich., Orandi obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science and the Arts in Ann Arbor, Mich.
He earned his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine at Portsmouth, Dominica, West Indies. Orandi completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Mich.
“I trained at an extremely busy hospital in Detroit. The Henry Ford System has over 1,800 beds in the southeastern Michigan area,” said Orandi. “My program had an eclectic group of residents from all over the world. This residency provided me with great clinical training from a variety of physicians.”
Orandi will serve in a dual role as both an Internal Medicine doctor and a hospitalist at LRH. His areas of special interest are preventative healthcare and weight management. His father, Dr. Vali Orandi, is a medical doctor at LRH specializing in radiology.
“There were several reasons I came to Fergus Falls. The obvious one is that I could work alongside my father,” said Orandi. “However, the way the people treated me when I came to interview completely sold me on coming.”
Orandi has a vision to set up classes for those in the community interested in weight control and a healthy lifestyle.
“Patient education is the most important factor in this, and hopefully, we can provide this information in a way that is interesting and enlightening,” said Orandi.
In his free time, Orandi enjoys soccer, hockey, golf, running, cooking, auto mechanics, history and travel.
