Spartans fall, take fifth at Nationals

The M State Spartan volleyball team closed out their season with a fifth place finish, falling to the Northland Pioneers 3-2 (25-21, 21-25, 24-26, 25-21, 15-8) Saturday afternoon.

M State’s offensive attack was led by Kaitlyn Timian and Cheyanne O’Neal with 14 and 12 kills, respectively. Gretchen Freed tallied 26 digs for the Spartans in the game.

The Spartans finished the season with a 15-11 record as the champions of Region XIII A.
