Tingelstad carries flag to truce signing [UPDATED]
Published 9:25am Monday, November 12, 2012 Updated 11:26am Monday, November 12, 2012U.S. Army Pvt. Anton Tingelstad of Pelican Rapids, served in World War 1 and told his family that he carried the flag into the room where the truce ending the war was signed. Fittingly, he died on Flag Day.
Unfortunately, according to Eleanor Tingelstad, a relative now living in Fergus Falls, they were unable to get additional information on the event, as the Seattle, Wash., headquarters suffered a fire and all records were lost.
