Patsy Torgerson, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at her home under the care of her group home staff and Lakeland Hospice.stiff

She was born Sept. 28, 1980, in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Daniel P. and Francine (Moreau) Torgerson. She was baptized at Tingvold Lutheran Church, rural Underwood, and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

She attended the Fergus Falls Public Schools as a student in the Special Education Program, graduating in 2002. While in school, Patsy participated in Special Olympics.

Growing up, Patsy was a member of the Carlisle-French 4-H Club, and enjoyed showing cattle at the West Otter Tail County Fair. She was always proud of her accomplishments.

Following graduation, Patsy moved to her current residence at Lakes Homes — Northern House. The staff and housemates became her extended and caring family. The staff helped her to further develop her daily living skills. They made sure that she was able to be involved in a variety of enjoyable activities, such as going to dances and taking community education classes.

For several years Patsy spent time working at Productive Alternatives where the staff helped her develop job skills.

Preceding her in death were her father, Daniel; her uncle, Matt Torgerson; an infant aunt, Jill Torgerson; and her maternal grandparents, Francis and Maxine Moreau.

Patsy is survived by her mother, Francine Torgerson of Fergus Falls; a brother, Brian (Kristin) Torgerson of Fergus Falls; paternal grandparents, Paul and Marie Torgerson of Princeton; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church

Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, at First Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls

Clergy: Rev. Saul Stensvaag

Burial: First Lutheran North Cemetery, rural Fergus Falls
