Fergus Falls swimmer Abby Fisher made her way into the finals in the 100 backstroke and will compete in the consolation round in the 100 fly after Friday’s state Class A preliminary round at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

Fisher finished in seventh place in the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.72., putting her in the top eight to qualify to the championship round. The time also marks a personal best for the swimmer.

In the 100 fly, Fisher finished in 14th, but will swim in the consolation round at the meet. She was seeded 22nd in the event but was able to cut her way into the top 15.

“This was a very fast and deep State A meet,” Otter coach Tom Uvaas said. “I want to thank the great fan support for Abby and all that the community of Fergus Falls has done in supporting her.”

Fisher was the lone representative for the Fergus Falls swim team at the meet.
