Gates Streeter Jr. died Wednesday, Nov. 14 at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.

Gates Thomas Streeter Jr. was born on Nov. 28, 1925, at Wright Hospital in Fergus Falls, the son of Thomas and Delores (Weinrich) Streeter. He attended Country School. After receiving his education, Bud farmed with his father on the family farm with horses, custom combined, and was a farm hand for area neighbors as well. In his younger years, Bud enjoyed playing cards, roller skating and square dancing, which is where he met Angie.

On Jan. 30, 1953, Bud married Evanguline “Angie” Nelson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Bud and Angie were blessed with five children and raised their granddaughter DeLinda Wegner.

Bud and Angie lived in Fergus Falls for a short time, eventually moving out to the family farm in Western Township, where they continue to live. In 1967, Bud went to work for Park Region and later Metz Bakery in Fergus Falls.

In his spare time, Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid card player. Bud played cribbage, pinochle, and especially enjoyed playing crazy 8’s and “go fish” with his grandchildren. Bud was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, having been baptized, confirmed, and married in the church. He was also a church trustee and played in the bell choir.

Bud is survived by his wife, Angie of Fergus Falls; four children: Bob of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Mike (Linda) of Fergus Falls, Keith (Sue) of Junction City, Kan., and Bonnie (Jerry) Donovan of Eagle Bend, Minn.; nine grandchildren: Larisa, Ben, DeLinda, Matthew, Donnie, Stacy, Jeff, Lucas and Brittany; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Patrina Carlson of Fergus Falls; and a nephew, Neil Aukland of Pa.

In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy; and a granddaughter, Amanda Jo.
