Poster winners announced for America Recycles Day in Fergus Falls [UPDATED]

Fourth graders from Cleveland School in Fergus Falls participated in a poster coloring contest, with winners announced Thursday in celebration of America Recycles Day.
The theme of the contest was “reduce, reuse, recycle” with the students focusing on colorful, creative ways to promote recycling. While the posters were on display at the OTC Solid Waste office, and several members of the community voted on their favorite.
Five classes of fourth graders participated, and a winner was picked from each class. Each winner received an award certificate along with a reusable water bottle donated by Mill Street Residence.
The five winners were Sierra Hatlewick, Marissa Hurly, Ellie Andersen, Ellie Babb, and Nathan Wedll.
America Recycles Day is a nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States. Although the day falls just once a year, it is designed to bring awareness on recycling throughout the year. The Otter Tail County Solid Waste department, the Environmental Stewardship Team of Fergus Falls, and Mill Street Residence sponsored this poster coloring contest to promote recycling in Fergus Falls and Otter Tail County.
