Jordan Rasmusson from Fergus Falls had been recognized for being in the top ten percent in his 2011-20012 freshman year at Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Evelynn M. Hammonds, Dean of Harvard College, notified Rassmusson by letter on Oct. 19 that he had won the Detur Book Prize. The Detur Book Prize provides up to $45 to each recipient to be used toward the purchase of a book of their choice.

The Detur Prize was created from a bequest of Edward Hopkins, an early governor of Connecticut. The name “Detur” comes from the Latin Detur digniori “to the more worthy let it be given.”
