Man injured in road construction accident [UPDATED]

A road construction accident southwest of Wahpeton resulted in injuries to the driver of a semi truck.

Michael Martin, 38, of Fairmount was dumping a load of dirt when his 2002 Peterbilt rolled onto its driver’s side. The vehicle was laying partially in a slough, but the driver managed to get out of the semi before he was taken via LifeFlight to Fargo to be treated for unknown injuries.

Damage to the semi is estimated at $5,000. Lidgerwood Fire Department, Lidgerwood Ambulance, Breckenridge/Wahpeton ambulance and the Richland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
