Otter volleyball holds banquet

On Sunday, the Fergus Falls volleyball team held their annual post season awards banquet.
Brianna Rasmusson was named honorable mention to the Class AAA All-State team. This is the first time that a member of the Fergus Falls team has been named to the all-state team in this class.
“Only 16 kids in the whole state of AAA volleyball are chosen,” Otter coach Renee Erickson said. “We have never had a player make the team. We are so pumped for Bri. It is well deserved.”
Rasmusson also took home team MVP, best server and best setter awards.
Devonie Smith was awarded the Ms. Hustle and best defense award, while teammates Hanna Swenson and Kristin Traiser were awarded most improved.
Laura Gaustad (best hitter), Anna Monke (best blocker), Morgan Hensch (best team player), Kate Groesbeck (most inspirational), Jordan Harworth and Gabby Stocks (best practice player), and Dakota Birch (spirit) also received awards at the event.
Stocks and Hensch were also named to the Central Lakes Conference All-Academic team.
The Otters also received a team award for sportsmanship in the CLC.
The Otters finished the year with a 25-6 record, falling to Bemidji in the Section 8AAA title game.
