Selma Erickson, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at her home.Metropolitan

She was born Feb. 1, 1935, in Elizabeth Township in Otter Tail County, the daughter of John and Clara (Stephenson) Carlson. She attended school at District 115 and Fergus Falls High School.

On June 7, 1953, she married Glenn A. Erickson in rural Erhard. She worked for Northwestern Bell in California, Fergus Falls and Fargo, retiring in 1986.

She was an active member of Augustana Lutheran Church, and also a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Tonseth Cemetery Board.

She volunteered at Lake Region Hospital and the local food shelf.

Selma enjoyed living at the lake, gardening, and was a great cook, making lefse and canning. She loved quilting, playing cards, and sewing.

Being with her many friends and family, especially her children and grandchildren, brought her much joy. She and Glenn traveled to Texas for many years, and enjoyed their time spent there.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Glenn, in 2007; and a brother, Carl.

Survivors include her children, Leslie (Clare) of Dalton Gardens, Idaho, Linda (Jerry) Shea of Fergus Falls, and Roy (Darla) of Hayden, Idaho; grandchildren, Thomas (Emilee) Erickson of Meridian, Idaho, Stephanie Erickson of Fargo, and Callie and Katie Shea of Fergus Falls; great-grandchildren, Brilee Erickson, and a great-grandson due in early December; a brother, Edwin (Ruth) Carlson of Fergus Falls; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Visitation: Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at the church

Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Augustana Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls
