A back and forth battle between the hosting Fergus Falls Otters and the Henry Sibley Warriors saw the visitor come out on top Saturday as the Warriors laid claim to the Thanksgiving Shootout title with a 3-2 win.

In the first period, neither team could find the back of the net as the teams skated to a scoreless opening period.

Henry Sibley was able to get the scoring going in the second as Ashley Linarte flipped in a Jessica Goldberg pass early in the period. The period would end with the Otters trailing 1-0.

Things began to heat up in the final period as Fergus’ Sydney Kuehl even the game off a Megan Niblock pass at the 3:35 mark. The Warriors fired back two minutes later as Demi Cooper squeezed past the Otter netminder to regain the lead. Fergus would not take thing lying down as Kuehl would once again score, this time unassisted, to knot the game back up at two goals apiece.

Ericka Hillstrom and the Warriors would put the dagger in the game as a goal midway through the third put the Otters away for good.

In JV action, Henry Sibley was able to defeat the Otter JV 12-2 to claim the JV title at the tourney.

The Otters will get back to their regular season schedule Tuesday as they travel to Wadena to take on LPGE/WDC Blue Devils at 7 p.m.
