Pedestrian struck, killed

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car on Minnesota State Highway 10 in Verndale Monday evening.

The pedestrian was jogging across the highway in an area that was not a controlled intersection when a 2001 Mitsubishi, Mirage traveling west struck the jogger, who died at the scene. The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, Anoka Police Department and Ramsey Police Department responded to the scene.

The road was not icy at the time of the accident, and the Minnesota State Patrol has not released any more information at this time.
