Lady Spartans fall to Cobber JV 86-71
Published 9:17am Wednesday, November 28, 2012The M-State Womens Basketball team dropped another one at home to the JV of the Cobbers out of Concordia College in Moorhead by a score of 86-71. The Lady Spartans found themselves down in a big hole and just couldn’t seem to catch back up at any point, the Lady Cobbers had a nice game from the field shooting 44% on the night.
The Cobbers held a 18 point lead at one point in the night and really never looked back, they seemed to have good control of the game and were playing the pace they wanted to play.
M-State was outrebounded big time losing that battle 54-37. Concordia was led by Freshman Mackenzie Strand who played a terrific all around game finishing with 21 points, eight assists and five rebounds. Alecia Stene did a nice job controlling the paint as she had herself a 12 point and 16 rebound kind of night.
Rhoda Christensen kept the Spartans in the game finishing the night with 24 points, Megan Cole and Aria Walstad both chipped in with 10.
The Lady Spartans will go on the road this Friday night up to Ely Minnesota to take on Vermillion College, the game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
