God will not remain where he’s not welcome [UPDATED]

I agree with a recent letter admonishing us to be thankful to God for all He has done for us. He has blessed America like no other nation on earth. I also agree that we should use Thanksgiving Day, and every day, to thank God for the abundance that He has blessed us with. We should be especially grateful and thankful for the gift of His Son Jesus Christ.affair

I disagree however with the assertion that we remain ‘One Nation under God’.

Oh how I wish it we were, but God will not remain where He is not welcome. As evidenced by our recent elections, and as the President of the USA has said; “We are no longer a Christian nation”.

We also no longer live in a land that celebrates life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The unalienable rights given to us by God are gradually and systematically being taken from us.

Many Christians said after the election; regardless who’s president, Jesus is still King. Jesus is King to those who’ve chosen to allow Him to reign in their lives; unfortunately the majority of Americans have chosen another king.

God reigned in Israel in the days of the prophet Samuel, but the nation desired to have a king rule over them. America has also chosen for itself to have a king rule over them.

“1 Samuel 8:4-11 So all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah. They said to him, “You are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways; now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have.”

But when they said, “Give us a king to lead us,” this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the Lord. And the Lord told him: “Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king. As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you.

Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do.” Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking him for a king. He said, “This is what the king who will reign over you will do:

This is what the Democrat/Liberal/Socialist/Marxist will do: He will confiscate wealth and redistribute it in the name of fairness, so that all Americans will be equal, equally poor.

He will reject God’s laws and will embrace the murder of the unborn, perverted marriages and covetousness,. He will turn a blind eye to actual injustices and will invent contrived injustices. He will create division amongst Americans by dividing us by gender, race, and economic status.

He will proclaim peace (perceived peace, not actual peace) with our enemies, while alienating our true allies, including our closest ally Israel.

What is evil, he will call good, and what is good he will call evil.

He will destroy life in the name of choice, liberty in the name of security, and the pursuit of happiness through excessive taxation.

“19-22a But the people refused to listen to Samuel. “No.” they said. “We want a king over us. Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.” When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the Lord. The Lord answered, “Listen to them and give them a king.”

God is not a dictator, He will only rule where He is welcomed. Unfortunately the USA has said “no” we don’t want you to rule over us.

    Just for fun here’s a challenge–try and find ONE proclamation or piece of passed and signed legislation from our founding fathers where God is identified as the Christian God. (Hint–you’ll need to find something containing the name of Jesus the Christ)
    If you fail then agree to stop promoting your vision/understanding of God as the universally accepted God of the founding fathers.

    Christianity, unlike Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, or any other man-made religion, is not a religion. Christianity is having a personal relationship with the creator of the universe. Christianity is not man attemting to get to God through good works or performing certain acts of obedience like religions do. Christianity is God becoming a man and choosing to be made a sacrifice for our sins. Christianity is God (the Holy Spirit) actually indwelling those who’ve accepted Jesus’ as their Savior and have surrendered to His Lordship. It is impossible for man in his own ability and strength to live godly. God has no grandchildren, only children. One is not a Christian simply because his parents were Christians. Simply going to church does not make one a Christian. Being sprinkled with water does not make one a Christian. Reciting some predetermined words on a predetermined day does not make one a Christian.

    Where did they get the idea to have 3 equal branches of government? Judicial, legislative, and executive! They determined that that much power should not be vested in one entity or one individual.

    You all should not be upset or angry at my letter, you guys should be estatic. You should all be dancing in the streets. You are getting what you’ve all longed for, a Godless nation! The majority has decided to cast off all retsraints and live free, free from all of God’s binding restrictions. Free to be immoral! Free to live whatever lifestyle you choose, while forcing those who disagree to accept it. Free to abort babies! Free to take money from those you deem too rich. Free! Free! Free! Freedom apart from God/Jesus leads to bondage!

    Psalm 2:1-4 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth take their places; the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and His Anointed One (the Messiah, the Christ). They say, Let us break Their bands [of restraint] asunder and cast Their cords [of control] from us.     Larry, you contend there is no evidence that there is a Creator God, That statement is absurd, the evidence is all around us! God says that you are a fool and that your thinking is futile and godless.

    Dick, Your rejection of God is moronic, God says you are corrupt and you are a fool.

    Psalm 14:1 The [empty-headed] fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable deeds; there is none that does good or right.

    Gary, Your complete lack of respect and honor for God’s Holy and sacred word is pitiful. I pray that one day your heart will be opened and that the truth that is hidden in God’s word will be revealed to you. But as of now that has not happened.

    1st, Dick, I never said the bible verified the existance of God, the very creation which He created verifies the existance of God. Is it reading that you have trouble with, or just understanding english? 2nd, I use my real name in my post. None of you guys use your real names, so put on your big boy pants and stop your whining. I know the girls have offered to meet you guys to verify the validity of names, but you guys have refused. 3rd What you are really upset about is that God calls you a fool, and you want to blame the messenger. 4th Where or when have I ever claimed to be a good Christian?     Yes Larry, I have heard of faith, I even understand what faith is and what it is not. I will beging by explaining to you what faith is not. Faith is not wishing, it is not having a desire for something to be true, nor is it simply hoping. Faith is not simply choosing to believe something to be true. Faith, true faith, is based on knowledge. Faith is believing something to be true because of evidence. I have varying degrees of faith with certain people in my life. Some people I have no faith in because I know them to be untrustworthy. Other people I have little faith in because they have been only somewhat reliable in the past. Still others I have total faith in because they’ve always been faithful to me in the past. Faith is having complete confidence in someone. I have faith/confidence in God because He has not only been faithful to me in the past, but has been faithful throughout history to do what He says He will do. Everything that God had prophesied concerning the Messiah/Christ happened just as He said that it would. The God-kind of faith is not what the world calls blind faith. Faith, the God-kind of faith, can come from only one source; The Word (Rhema) of God! In the greek there are two words for the word “WORD”, rhema and logos. Rhema is the spoken word from God. Logos is the written word. Faith does not come from reading the bible, it can, but simply reading it will not necessarily produce faith. Faith comes when God speaks His Word to you. So then faith comes by the Rhema of God, not the logos of God.

    Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

    1) “We are and have always been free to act upon our own devices and vote according to our self interests”

    True Larry, the difference between us and the founders is that we choose to use that freedom to act upon on our own devices and vote according to our own selfish interest, whereas the founder’s chose to trust in God and vote according to the best interest of the nation and future generations.

    “We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world ….. with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”

    2) You can not use something “reported to be” the word of God to support the existance of God.

    There are two errors in your assertion:

    A. When you say “reported to be the word of God” you make it sound as if the authenticity of the scriptures being the Word of God as if it were merely an opinion or allegation. The beauty of the Word of God is that it actually gives the person reading it the ability to prove whether or not it is truly the Word of God. Those who have accepted the challenge have proven to themselves that the Bible is most definately the Word of God, but those who refuse the challenge can only make assertions based on opinion. The bible either is, or is not, the Word of God, there is no middle ground on that. The authority of a person making the statement that the bible is the word of God can be validated by each individual.

    John 7:16-17 Jesus answered them by saying, My teaching is not My own, but His Who sent Me. If any man desires to do His will (God’s pleasure), he will know (have the needed illumination to recognize, and can tell for himself) whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking from Myself and of My own accord and on My own authority.

    EXAMPLE: I say that there is a mouse in the room and you contend that there is not a mouse in the room. If one of us has been in the room while the other refused to go into the room, one of us would be speaking on authority of having seen firsthand while the other would be basing their contention on a personal opinion. Experience always trumps opinion!

    B. I, like Paul, was using creation itself (not the word of God) to support the existance of God.

    EXAMPLE: We could travel throughout the cities of the world and view all the magnificent structures that man has created; the beautiful buildings, the tall sky scrapers, the statues, the highways and the bridges. Without having ever seen, or even knowing their names, we would both conclude that someone designed and built these structures. Anyone who would debate whether or not architects or construction workers exists would be considered a fool. If a person chose to deny the existance of these workers based on their having never met one of them, they are blind and beyond help. How much more the intelligent design of creation?
