For The Journal

“At Christmas” is a unique blend of family fueled comedy and drama for the holidays. It will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14 at A Center for the Arts’ Fergus Theatre, 124 W. Lincoln Ave. Fergus Falls.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students/children. For more information or to purchase tickets by phone or on line, contact us at 998-998-ARTS (2787) or www.FergusArts.org.

“At Christmas” is brilliantly written and performed by three alumni of Dudley Riggs Brave New Workshop, as well as a live, 6-piece band featuring one of the Twin Cities’ favorite front men, Mick Sterling.

The presentation of “At Christmas” is wonderfully simple and minimal. What drives “At Christmas” are the stories and the music that will ring true with family members of all ages. The 90-minute show is a reflection of what the holidays are for all families, funny, poignant and heart-warmingly tender.

These reflections will be displayed theatrically while the music score of A Brave New Workshop Musical Director Peter Guertin leads the band with his own original score, along with Mick Sterling, leading his band as they perform surprisingly fresh interpretations of recognizable Christmas favorites.

The actors in the cast are Shanan Custer, Jim Robinson and Michelle Guertin.

The musicians are Mick Sterling, Peter Guertin, Lisi Wright, and the talented trio “Lehto and Wright” featuring Steven Lehto and John Wright with Matt Jacobs.
