Time flies, don’t miss a thing [UPDATED]

I think the older you get, the faster time passes.
I have a hypothesis about that: Pretend all people live to be 100. Then, when you’re 5, one year is only 20 percent of your life, but by the time you’re 50, a year is down to 2 percent of your life.
No wonder time passes faster as you get older: 2 percent is a heck of a lot less time than 20 percent. And, with everything there is to do in December, it will pass by in the blink of a reindeer’s eye.
First, A Center for the Arts has a lobby art sale featuring several local artists during lobby hours throughout December. A variety of art forms are represented, from cards to ceramics to jewelry to painting and more.
We also have a lot of holiday performances.
The first weekend is Dance and Dessert on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 1 and 2, both days at 2 p.m. The popularity of this show has grown immensely over the years, so get your tickets while they’re still available.
There may be a seat or two left at the door, but don’t count on it.
Dance and Dessert is reserved seating and tickets are $15 and 5 for adults and children/students, respectively.
The second weekend, on Friday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m., is another annual favorite when Wendy Erlandson and Linda Mellon get together with their friends Rob Johnson, David Stoddard, John Hatling, Joe Barnett, and Elizabeth Hatling to put on a show filled with fun, laughter, a few tugs on the old heart-strings, a few surprises, and of course great singing and music.
This year’s holiday show is “Go Tell It.”
Friday, Dec. 14 begins a really busy weekend at the Center. At 7:30 p.m. is the touring show, “At Christmas” with Mick Sterling.
It is a brilliantly written and performed reflection of what the holidays are for all families — funny, poignant and heart-warmingly tender — displayed theatrically by three actors and accompanied by a six-piece band with an original score along with surprisingly fresh interpretations of recognizable Christmas favorites.
Saturday, Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. is a free concert by AC4TA’s three children’s choirs and a few private voice students.
After the concert, join us for two free family-friendly holiday films, one starting at 11:30 a.m. and the other starting at 1:30 p.m.
At the movies, we will be accepting non-perishable food items (or monetary donations) for the local food shelf.
Rounding out our holiday programming on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. is our annual Theater Organ Concert.
This year the show will be bigger and better than ever with the addition of the Vining Bell Choir, guest organists, a piano accompanist, and closing with a sing-along of holiday favorites.
