Woman dies while crossing highway [UPDATED]

A Lake Park woman died after she was struck by a car while crossing U.S. Highway 10 near Lake Park Thursday evening.

Shelby Somerville, 25, of Lake Park was walking south across Highway 10 in the right lane when she was struck and killed by a 2012 GMC, Acadia driven by Mary Zacharias, 57, of Ottertail.

There was no crosswalk where Somerville was crossing the divided highway, and the road conditions were dry, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The Becker County Sheriff’s Office and Lake Park Police Department assisted on the scene.
