BELGRADE — The West Central boys basketball team was able to stay close in the first half, but saw the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Panthers surge in the second half to a 65-38 win at their home tournament.

The Knights went into halftime trailing last season’s Class A state champs 27-21, but could not hold the Panthers in the second half as they went off for 28 points and held West Central to 17.

The Panthers were able to take advantage of 32 Knight turnovers, compared to their own 19.

Dakotah Kashmark led the Knights with 12 points in the game.

The Knights will now play Kurkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg, a 89-23 loser to Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, Saturday at 6 p.m. in Belgrade.
