Underwood tops conference awards

The Underwood Rocket football team walked away from the Pheasant Conference North with a bevy of trophies over the weekend.

Chase Collins was named most valuable back, while teammate Steffan Stroh was named most valuable lineman.

They were both joined by quarterback Noah Rocholl, lineman Tony Onstad, runningback A.J. Montgomery and lineman Leroy Hauge on the All-Conference team.

Underwood seniors Soshi Tachibana and Cody Karst were named honorable mention.

Head Coach Chuch Ross also received an award as he was named the conference’s Coach of the Year.

Others named to the All-Conference team were Hillcrest seniors Theo Taylor and Jared Kugler. Dalton Tostenson, Sam Martens, Chad Hermes and Chris Bigelow for the Comets received honorable mention.

In the Pheasant Conference South, Ashby’s Hunter Fick, Blake Ohren and Gage Olsen and Brandon-Evansville’s Zach Henneman and James Huisman were named all-conference.

Fick also received an all-section nod for his play this past season.

Ashby seniors Tanner Langlie and Dylan Barry took home honorable mentions, as well as the Chargers Zach Carlson, Devin Roers, Will Schroeder and Craig Campbell.
