RTC: A gift or a hindrance? Program explores Kirkbride’s impact on FF [UPDATED]Published 9:53am Monday, December 3, 2012 Updated 11:54am Monday, December 3, 2012
Join the Friends of the Kirkbride for the presentation “The Fergus Falls State Hospital: A Gift to the Community” at noon on Friday, Dec. 7, at the Otter Tail County Historical Society.
Since 2005 the Friends have provided weekly tours of the hospital complex. For the 6,500 people who have taken the tour the overwhelming reaction is awe. Awe that a complex of this significance stands empty in our community awaiting its fate.
The preservation or demolition of the State Hospital has been one of the most controversial issues the city has ever faced. Is it a gift or a hindrance? For the Friends of the Kirkbride the answer it quite straightforward.
Join us for this public forum as we discuss the impact of the Fergus Falls State Hospital — past, present and future.
The program is free and open to the public. For more information call 218-736-6038.
