Rothsay girls hold off Park Christian

MOORHEAD — A strong second half outing gave the Rothsay girls just want they needed as they defeated Park Christian 44-37 Thursday.

The Tigers came out ready to play, but saw their lead dwindle and went into the break down 23-21.

Rothsay would not go down quietly and were able to gain a 10 point lead on the Falcons in the second half. The Tigers would hold off the charging Park Christian team to pick up their second win of the year.

“It was a game of a lot of up and downs throughout, but our defense was able to get us to our second victory of the year,” Tiger coach Jesse Arbuckle said.

Caitlin Simmer picked up a double-double for the Tigers scoring 16 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.

The Tigers will be back in action Dec. 14 as they host Battle Lake in a 7:30 p.m. Little Eight Conference showdown.
