Thanks to so many for generosity [UPDATED]

We simply can’t help ourselves: we have to give extra kudos to several people featured in the paper this week.

The week started out with the news of the clever custodian at Adams Elementary School, who saw that a wheel-chair bound student couldn’t fit under her desk.

He took it upon himself to retrofit a student desk to accommodate her chair, helping her fit in with the other students.

His sensitivity to the problem made everyone’s Monday.

Throughout the month, Cleveland Elementary students are collecting pet supplies to donate to the Otter Tail County Humane Society. The collection drive started in late November with a photo parade of kids’ pets. Presents for Pets, a service project, appears to be popular with the students and helps the Humane Society with needed pet items.

Finally, to all the people who are dropping coins and dollars into the Red Kettles, thank you on behalf of the Salvation Army. So many people will be helped next year because of the seemingly small donations that collectively add up to big money when people need it most.
